This is an acousmatic composition in second-order Ambisonics and is inspired by listening to car sounds on the carriageway. The vehicles travel in a certain direction as their primary role, which establishes spatial cognition by spectral and gestural traces of their passing. In particular, the panning of this work emphasises a back-and-forth movement more than traditional stereo panning from side to side by virtue of a 3D spatial sound system. Thereby, the sound movement may encourage a certain directionality toward not only places that listeners encounter in the work, but also spaces in which they are consciousness.
