Sound Drawing
Programme Note
When people hear particular sounds, certain images can appear in their minds. Based on this concept, efforts to visualise sounds have been made in the past. Until now, various attempts have been continuously made by artists and the development of technology has highly inspired them. This work intuitively expresses the sound visualization process that takes place in the mind by means of imagination. The repetition of rhythms creates patterns and the patterns again become images. In reverse, visual images are converted into music through patterns and rhythms.
I believe the visual can not only express sound information but also contain the texture of sounding objects, Furthermore, it can transform sound elements and effectively reflect performers’ emotions as visualising the performance in real-time.
